SONAR X1 FX Chains Expanded
Create combinations of multiple audio effects with a fully customizable interface complete with user-definable skins.

Introduced in SONAR X1, FX Chains provide a powerful and flexible way to organize and create combinations of multiple effects including DSP-based effects. FX Chains 2.0 expands the concept from simple effects containers to fully customizable plug-in interfaces, complete with user-definable skins. Knobs and sliders are assignable to any effect parameters within the chain and are available for ACT control. Drag and drop FX Chains from the Browser, between tracks, or to individual clips.
User Interface
FX Chains 2.0 features a fully customizable user interface. Now you can create a single, powerful, multi-effect processor using any or all of the audio effects you use in SONAR X1.
FX Chain Collections
To get started using FX Chains 2.0, SONAR X1 Producer Expanded includes 100 presets divided into five collections. Use these expertly crafted effect chains in your mixes right away, or use them as inspiration for creating your own custom FX Chains.
- 100 PRESETS
- 5 COLLECTIONS
- 20 - Retro
- 20 - Modern
- 20 - Vocals
- 20 - Drums
- 20 - Guitar
Custom control layouts allow flexibility in determining which individual parameters within the chain need to be front and center. For example, in a delay and reverb chain, the first knob can control the reverb decay time and the second knob can be assigned to the delay feedback amount.
FX Chains 2.0 Controls:
- 2 Faders – input/output
- 2 VU Meters – input/output
- 6 Buttons
- 6 Rotary controls
- Global Bypass Switch
- Individual plugin Bypass
Not only can the controls be customized, but the physical appearance of the entire interface can be changed to give your FX Chains a personal touch. If you choose to share a custom preset with another SONAR X1 Producer Expanded user, the custom interface will also be shared.
ACT Support
Each custom FX Chain parameter can be assigned and manipulated with complete hands-on control via SONAR X1’s Active Controller Technology (ACT).
